EMI macht Verluste in Höhe von 512 Mio. Pfund, benötigt Kapital

EBITDA before restructuring up 14% to £334 million (5.5% at constant currency)
Operating cashflow up 55% to £250 million
Revenues up to £1.65 billion
Operating pre-tax profit* reaches £121 million (2009: £7 million)
Both EMI Music and EMI Music Publishing contribute to improvement in operating performance
Net loss (after restructuring costs and fair value adjustments) reduced by two thirds to £512 million

EMI benötigt zum Überleben Kapital von außen. Focus:

Nachdem die Eigentümer der Private-Equity-Gruppe Terra Firma bereits zu Jahresbeginn mit 105 Millionen Pfund (130 Millionen Euro) aushelfen mussten, kündigte das Management am Mittwoch an, es bedürfe weiterer 26,5 Millionen Pfund noch in diesem Jahr. Das Geld werde gebraucht, um Anforderungen Hauptgläubigers, der US-Bank Citigroup, zu erfüllen.

Digitale Einkünfte weist EMI nicht aus, wie Paid Content berichtet:

Even after a recent emergency refinancing, EMI still has £3 billion debt outstanding. It warns it will fall short of banking covenants until 2015. But full-year financials show company fundamentals doing slightly better now…

Sales from the Recorded Music division (ie. people buying music) are up 6.5 percent, and from the Music Publishing division are up 2.1 percent.
